CD Single - Diana Anaid
CD Single Review
Cheatin’ on Me - Diana Anaid
Hailing from little ol’ Nimbin in the north-east sphere of NSW, Diana Anaid certainly doesn’t adhere to the cliché her that home town might espouse—this isn’t stoner rock, nor psychedelic trance. But Anaid, with accolades such as 5 ARIA nominations and an iTunes ‘most downloaded single of the week’, is no stranger to the big bright lights of commercial pop of the cities, and this latest release is set to continue her success. With catchy melodies that stick in your head, and an upbeat vibe to what is a painful lyrical motif, there’s an enthusiasm here that just may spill over into chart ratings. The remixed version by revered underground dance musician, Josh Abrahams, is something you can expect to hear in the clubs and adds a harder edge to the otherwise radio-friendly pop song. Also included are two live recordings—“Cheatin’ on Me” and “Last Thing”—which showcases Anaid’s true vocal talent and makes this a well-rounded package.
